Elliott Named Dita/NFHCA Regional Coach of the Year

 

 

 

 

 

 

The NFHCA is pleased to announce that the following coaches have been selected as 2012 Dita / NFHCA Division III Regional Coaches of the Year:

2012 Dita / NFHCA Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year: Gina Preston Wills, DePauw University



 

Preston Wills led DePauw to a 21-2 overall record and a trip to the 2012 NCAA Final Four. DePauw captured the 2012 North Coast Athletic Conference regular season and conference tournament titles while setting a school record for most wins in a season. Preston Wills was recognized as the 2012 NCAC Coach of the Year.

 

2012 Dita / NFHCA New England East Region Coach of the Year: Cheryl Silva, MIT

Silva led MIT to a 17-3 overall record and the 2012 NEWMAC Championship. MIT advanced to the 2nd round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament.

 

2012 Dita / NFHCA New England West Region Coach of the Year: Tina McDavitt, Tufts University

McDavitt led Tufts to a 19-2 overall record and the 2012 NCAA Division III Championship. Her squad's victory in the NCAA Championship Game marked the first NCAA Championship won by a women's team at Tufts University.

 

2012 Dita / NFHCA North Atlantic Region Coach of the Year: Wendy Andreatta, University of Rochester

Andreatta led Rochester to an 18-6 overall record and a trip to the 3rd round of the 2012 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament. Her squad recorded the greatest season in the program's 38-year history and set a single season record for wins. Andreatta and her staff were recognized as the 2012 Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year.

 

2012 Dita / NFHCA South Atlantic Region Coach of the Year: Beth Gottung, Montclair State University

Gottung led Montclair State to a 22-2 overall record and a trip to the 2012 NCAA Championship Game. Her squad set a school record for victories in a season while capturing the 2012 NJAC regular season and conference tournament titles. Gottung was recognized as the 2012 NJAC Coach of the Year.

 

2012 Dita / NFHCA South Region Coach of the Year: Lindsey Elliott, University of Mary Washington

Elliott led Mary Washington to a 20-2 overall record and a trip to the 2012 NCAA Final Four. Her squad captured the Capital Athletic Conference regular season and conference tournament titles. Elliott was recognized as the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.

 

The 2012 Dita / NFHCA Division III National Coach of the Year will be announced



on Monday, December 17th.
