UMW senior field hockey star Morgan Jones (Williamsburg, Va., Walsingham Academy) added to her crowded trophy case on Monday, as she was named as a second team All-American by Synapsesports.com. Freshman Amy Abernathy (Virginia Beach, Va., Princess Anne) was selected as a member of the Division III All-Rookie team by the same site.

Jones led the Eagles with 24 goals and 10 assists for 58 points, and finished her illutsrious career second all-time in school history in both goals and total points. She has been selected as a first team All-Capital Athletic Conference and first team all-region selection this fall.

Abernathy, who was named co-winner of the CAC Rookie of the Year, was named to the all-rookie team as a defender after scoring one goal and assisting on three others in starting 14 games for the Eagles.
