Mary Washington junior forward MORGAN JONES (Williamsburg, Va./Walsingham Academy) and Wesley junior forward SHEREE PLEASANTON (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) were selected as the CAC Field Hockey Co-Offensive Players of the Week while Wesley senior goalkeeper SARAH JOHNSON (Honeybrook, Pa./Twin Valley) was selected as the CAC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 27, 2010.
Jones poured in her first four goals of the season and added two assists in a pair of weekend victories over Frostburg State and Eastern Mennonite, helping the Eagles into second place in the CAC standings.
Pleasanton started the week with the assist on the game-winning goal as the Wolverines defeated Delaware Valley for coach Tracey Short’s 200th career win. She then scored the game-winning goal, and added an insurance tally, in Wesley’s weekend victory over York.
Johnson recorded a pair of shutouts this week, moving the Wolverines into a tie for third place in the standings. She was credited with seven saves to raise her season shutout total to three in nine outings.
