Head Coach of Women’s Field Hockey/Health & PE Instructor

The Department of Athletics, Health and Physical Education at the University of Mary Washington (UMW) is seeking a Head Coach of Women's Field Hockey/Health & PE Instructor. This is a full-time, Renewable Term Appointment Faculty Position with full benefits, beginning August 16, 2011. UMW is a liberal arts and Sciences University with over 4,000 students, located 50 miles south of Washington, DC, has 23 Intercollegiate Teams for Men & Women and is a member of the NCAA Division III and the Capital Athletic Conference.

Responsibilities include all duties associated with coaching the NCAA Division III Women’s Intercollegiate Field Hockey Team and teaching Health and/or Physical Education Activities courses. The coaching duties include, but are not limited to, developing and implementing a comprehensive recruiting plan that will attract and maintain, student-athletes capable of succeeding in a highly competitive academic setting, budget management and scheduling. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Master's degree in Physical Education or related discipline, successful coaching and recruiting experience in Women’s Field Hockey, college level Field Hockey participation, ability to teach Health or Physical Education classes and become certified in CPR, First Aid and AED, is required.
