UMW Field Hockey Falls to #2 Salisbury, 3-0

The University of Mary Washington field hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision to \#2 Salisbury University on Sunday at the Battleground. The Eagles fall to 11-6 on the season, and 4-2 Capital Athletic Conference play.

Salisbury opened the scoring with 7:58 remaining in the first half, as Caitlin Walker scored unassisted. The Sea Gulls added two second half scores, as Alison Bloodworth scored on a Walker assist with 13:36 elapsed in the second half, and Kate Lamboni scored unassisted with 2:50 to play on a loose ball after a blocked shot.

The Sea Gulls outshot the Eagles, 19-2, and had 16 penalty corners to three for the Eagles. Mary Washington junior goalie Chrissy Bowdren had 10 saves, while Salisbury's Anna Cooke had one save.

Mary Washington will host Randolph-Macon College on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in the regular season finale.
