UMW Riding Team Captures First Place at UMW Show

The University of Mary Washington riding team won seven classes in gaining high-point honors at the UMW show at Hazlewild Farm on Saturday. The Eagles amassed 46 points, and Kimberly Counts was the high-point rider of the day.

The Eagles' Molly Banfield won her open on the flat and open over fences classes, while Mackenzie Walsh won her intermediate over fences class. Drew Kalaski won his novice on the flat class, and Counts won her novice on the flat and her novice over fences classes. Michelle Lee won at walk-trot.

The Eagles gained ground on Goucher College in the zone standings, as the Gophers placed second with 37 points. UMW will host another show at Hazelwild Farm on Sunday at 10 a.m.
