
The University of Mary Washington riding team gained two first place finishes and five second places in gaining reserve high-point totals at the University of Maryland show on Sunday.
The Eagles saw Kimberly Counts gain reserve high-point rider for the show after taking first place in her novice flat class and second in her novice over fences class. Elecia Franchini finished first in her walk-trot class.
Second place finishes went to Molly Banfield in open fences, Alyssa Zarzecki in intermediate flat, Kathleen Wallace in intermdiate fences, and Thomas Odum in walk-trot-canter.
The Eagles' finish draws them closer to the top spot in the regional standings, as UMW stands in second place. The next shows will be next weekend, as UMW hosts shows on Saturday and Sunday, February 16 and 17, at noon.
