The University of Mary Washington riding team opened the 2011-12
season by finishing in a tie for second place at Mount St. Mary's'
show in Towson, Md. on Sunday. The Eagles finished with 35 points,
seven points behind first-place Goucher's 42 points.
Sophomore Molly Banfield (Wake, Va., Christchurch)
finished first in her intermediate on the flat class, while
Alyssa Zarzecki (Owings Mills, Md., Pikesville) finished
first in her novice on the flat class. Michelle King (Lanham,
Md., Elenor Roosevelt) also finished first in her advanced
walk-trot-canter class.
The Eagles will return to action on October 29 at the University
of Maryland-Baltimore County show.
