The University of Mary Washington riding team finished in third place at the University of Richmond show on Sunday in Richmond. The Eagles had 30 points, behind first-place Goucher's 35. UMW now trails Goucher by three points heading into the spring season.

Winners for the Eagles on Sunday included Haley Cook (Duxbury, Mass., Duxbury) in open on the flat; Isabel Moore (Pembroke, Va., Blacksburg) in novice on the flat; Emilia Sanchez (Fredericksburg, Va., Stafford) in novice over fences; and Sarah Hagan (Fincastle, Va., James River) in advanced walk-trot-canter.

The Eagles will return to action on February 19-20, 2011, when they host a pair of shows at Hazelwild Farm.
