UMW Riding Team Takes First at Mount St. Mary's Show
The University of Mary Washington equestrian team competed in its first show of the regular season on Saturday at Goucher College in Towson, Md. The Eagles took first with 42 points, followed by Goucher with 38.

UMW had five first place finishes, including Mary Ryan Richardson (Powhatan, Va., Powhatan) in her intermediate equitation over fences and novice on the flat. Katherine Bartowiak (Mendham, N.J., Mendham) won her intermdiate on the flat class, Brittany Hill (Frederick, Md., Linganore) won her open over fences class, and Isabel Moore (Pembroke, Va., Blacksburg) won her advanced walk-trot-canter class.

The Eagles will return to the ring on October 30 when they compete in the Maryland-Baltimore County show.
