The University of Mary Washington riding team captured first place at the Preseason Tournament of Champions show at Goucher College on Sunday.

The Eagles saw senior Brittany Hill (Frederick, Md., Linganore) lead the way with first place finishes in her open equitation over fences and open equitation on the flat classes. Clair Maher (Alexandria, Va., T.C. Williams) was second in her walk-trot-canter class, and Cori Frederickson was second in her intermediate over fences class.

The Eagles will kick off the regular season slate next Saturday when they compete in the Mount St. Mary's College show hosted by Goucher College.
