The University of Mary Washington riding team finished in first place with 45 points at the first of its weekend shows on Saturday at Hazlewild Farm. Brittany Hill (Frederick, Md., Linganore) was the reserve high point rider for the day.

Winners for the Eagles included Brittany Hill in open over fences, Mary Ryan Richardson (Powhatan, Va., Powhatan) in intermediate on the flat, Christine Cook (Baltimore, Md., Bryn Mawr) in novice on the flat, Clair Maher (Alexandria, Va., T.C. Williams) in walk-trot-canter, and Meghan Olson (Yorktown, Va., York) in walk-trot.

The Eagles will host another show on Sunday.
