UMW Baseball Falls in C2C Twinbill at #11 Salisbury on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington baseball team dropped a pair of Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference games at 11th ranked Salisbury University on Saturday, 14-0 and 6-1. The Eagles slip to 15-15 on the season.

In the opener, the Eagles were led at the plate by Noah Roots with a pair of hits and Owen Reilly with a double. Alex Kobersteen took the loss, allowing nine runs on 11 hits in five innings, with three walks and three strikeouts.

In game two, Salisbury scored two in the third, one in the fourth, two in the seventh and one in the eighth. The Eagles scored in the ninth, as Ty Lowe doubled and scored on a groundout from Xavier Herring.

Jonathan Sedmak and Luke Guerzon each had two hits for the Eagles in addition to Lowe's double. Brendan McComber took the loss, with one earned run on three hits in four innings, with three walks and two strikeouts.

The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday when they visit Shenandoah University at 4:00 p.m.
