The University of Mary Washington baseball team dropped a 7-6 decision to John Carroll University on Friday afternoon at V. Earl Dickinson Stadium. The Eagles slip to 11-8 on the season.

The Blue Streaks jumped out to an early lead with a four-run first inning, and added another in the second. After sophomore Noah Roots led off with a walk, sophomores Owen Reilly and Ty Lowe connected for back to back doubles, with Lowe's strike scoring two. Jonathan Sedmak and Tim Blankenship each walked to load the bases, and Alex Purgason followed with a sacrifice fly to score one run, and Burke Steifman singled to shortstop to score another.

The Eagles scored one in the seventh, as Sam Freeborne and Purgason singled, moved up a base on a sacrifice bunt, and Freeborne scored on a throwing error following a lineout. UMW put runners on in the eighth and ninth, but were unable to draw even.
