UMW Baseball Game With Marymount Suspended After 10 Innings

Thursday's University of Mary Washington baseball game against Marymount University was suspended with the game tied after 10 innings. The game wil be resumed when the Eagles visit Marymount on March 20.

Marymount took the lead with a run in the fourth inning, but the Eagles bounced back with three in the fifth. With one out, Canon Davies singled and went to third base on a Jonathan Sedmak double. Andrew Gerhart followed with an RBI groundout to tie the score. Garrett Lyons doubled to plate  Sedmak, and David Lambertson singled to knock in Lyons.

The Eagles scored two more in the sixth, as the Saints committed a pair of errors. Marymount would score one run in the seventh, two in the eighth, and one more in the ninth to tie the score. The teams played one extra inning before the game was halted due to darkness.

Lyons, Lambertson, and Norman Holcomb each had a pair of hits for the Eagles. The game will be resumed on March 20 at 1 p.m. at Marymount.
