UMW Baseball Falls at William Peace in Season Opener

The University of Mary Washington baseball team fell at William Peace University, 11-0, on Saturday afternoon in Raleigh, N.C. for their season opener.

The Eagles had four hits on the day. Senior Christian Hague led the way with two hits, including one double in the fourth inning. Sam Freeborne and Hyatt Hurst recorded the other two hits for UMW. 

Cole Gabrielle pitched five innings on the mound, yielding seven runs and striking out one batter. Alex Ford threw one inning and recorded a strikeout. Zach Adams pitched the last two innings for the Eagles. 

UMW will be back in action on Sunday as they will stay in Raleigh to play William Peace in a doubleheader scheduled at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
