Biggs, Hague Named to 2019 All-CAC Baseball Team

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Penn State Harrisburg junior Bret Williams, York freshman Austin Denlinger and CNU head coach John Harvell claimed major awards to highlight the 2019 All-CAC Baseball Team. Williams was named Player of the Year, Denlinger earned Rookie of the Year, and Harvell was selected as Coach of the Year for the second straight season. 

Williams, an outfielder, is the first Penn State Harrisburg player to receive the conference's top honor as Player of the Year. A first-team All-CAC recipient for the second consecutive season, Williams boasts a .428 batting average with 77 hits, 58 RBIs, 15 home runs, 16 doubles, and 66 runs scored entering this week's NCAA Regional Tournament. He leads the CAC in runs, hits and doubles (16) while sitting third in both home runs and RBIs. Williams leads the nation in runs and total bases. He is also second in D3 in hits and third in home runs.

Denlinger, a shortstop for the Spartans, becomes the ninth Spartan to earn CAC Rookie of the Year accolades. Denlinger hit .358 this season with 28 RBIs, two home runs, 14 doubles, five triples and 45 runs scored. He posted 62 hits along with stealing 12 bases while hitting primarily in the No. 2 spot in the order for the Spartans. 

Harvell was selected by his peers as the CAC Coach of the Year for the second straight season after leading the Captains to the No. 2 seed, a 33-6 overall record and 17-3 mark in CAC play. Harvell and the Captains will host Penn State Harrisburg in the best-of-three CAC Baseball Championship Series beginning Thursday (May 9). 

All eight CAC squads received at least one spot on the all-star squad, with Christopher Newport leading the way with 10 all-conference honorees, followed by Penn State Harrisburg (5), Salisbury (4), York (2), Mary Washington (2), Southern Virginia (1), Frostburg State (1) and St. Mary's (1).
