YORK, Pa. -- The Capital
Athletic Conference announced its April 1, 2013, weekly award
winners:
Mary Washington senior
first baseman SETH JORDAN (Springfield, Va./South County) and
Eagles’ pitching classmate MIKE STRAUB (Falls Church,
Va./George Mason) were selected as the CAC Baseball Athletes of the
Week.
Jordan was named the Baseball Player of the Week for the second time in the last three weeks after hitting .529 (9-for-17) in four games last week, including three doubles. Jordan, who had at least one hit in each game and added two runs scored and three RBI, was 5-for-12 in the weekend series against Wesley that the Eagles won two of three to remain atop the CAC standings.
Straub was named the Baseball Pitcher of the Week after throwing a nine-inning shutout against CAC rival Wesley. UMW got Straub the only run he needed for the win in the bottom of the ninth inning after he scattered three hits and one walk to the Wolverines.
