The University of Mary Washington baseball team saw its seven-game win streak snapped on Sunday as the Eagles fell to Frostburg State University, 3-2, at Dickinson Stadium. UMW falls to 14-8 overall and 5-1 in Capital Athletic Conference play.

The game started as a terrific pitcher's duel, as neither team scored through six innings. UMW starter Torey Mancari began the game with five perfect innings with six strikeouts. In the sveenth, the Bobcats scored twice with three straight hits to start the frame, and added another in the eighth.

UMW plated a run in the eighth as freshman 3B Cam Kostyack led off by being hit by a pitch, and came around to score on an RBI single from left fielder Brendan Jones. UMW cut the deficit to one in the ninth, as T.J. Cretney reached on a fielder's choice, and moved to second on a Kostyack single. Second baseman Alex Bryant singled to left to plate Cretney.

Mancari took the loss for the Eagles, allowing seven hits and three runs in 7.1 innings with one walk and seven strikeouts. Joey Carleton pitched 1.2 innings of no-hit relief for the Eagles.

Mary Washington will return to action on Tuesday when the Eagles host Newport News Apprentice School at 2:00 p.m.
