UMW Baseball Falls at Randolph-Macon, 6-4

The University of Mary Washington baseball team dropped a nonconference game at ODAC champion Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, 6-4, on Sunday. The Eagles fall to 25-15 on the year.

The Eagles jumped ahead with two run s in the top of the first, but the Jackets tied the score with two in the second. Each team scored once in the third, and the game remained tied at three until the bottom of the sixth, when the Jackets scored twice. The Eagles cut the deficit to 5-4, but RMC scored an insurance run in the eighth in the 6-4 win.

Mary Washington was led by Jackson Clement, who singled and added a two-run homer, as well as Ben Sisk and Seth Jordan, who each collected a pair of hits. Senior Eric Rehbein pitched the first five innings, allowing three runs on nine hits with four walks and four strikeouts. Torey Mancari took the loss for the Eagles, allowing three runs in three innings.

UMW will host Apprentice School on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the home finale.
