#24 UMW Baseball Drops Twinbill at #25 Salisbury

The 24th ranked University of Mary Washington baseball team dropped a pair of games at \#25 Salisbury University on Saturday, 10-1 in the opener and 17-2 in the nightcap, to fall to 11-3 on the season, and 3-2 in Capital Athletic Conference play.

In the opener, Salisbury scored three in the second and five in the third and never looked back in a 10-1 win. Freshman first baseman Jeff Rezach singled and doubled for the Eagles, who saw Salisbury hit three home runs in the game. Senior Eric Rehbein absorbed his first loss of the season, allowing eight runs on nine hits in 2.2 innings.

In game two, freshman Beattie Southerland led the Eagles at the plate with three hits, including a solo homer, while Rehbein added a pair of hits in the loss. Sophomore Nick Corbin took the loss for UMW, allowing five runs on six hits in 1.2 innings.

The Sea Gulls will visit Fredericksburg for a 1:00 nine-inning game on Sunday.
