UMW Baseball Falls to Salisbury, 11-6, in NCAA Regional: Finishes in 3rd in South Bracket
Senior left fielder Will Wright had four hits and junior second baseman Eric Rehbein added three hits, including a two-run homer, but it wasnt enough to lift the University of Mary Washington baseball team past Salisbury University in the NCAA Division III South Regional in Fayetteville, N.C., on Friday, as the Eagles were eliminated with an 11-6 loss to the Sea Gulls. UMW ends the season with a record of 28-14.

Salisbury scored four runs in the first, one in the fourth, and four in the fifth to take a 9-0 lead. After SU scored twice in the seventh to take an 11-0 lead, UMW chipped away with three runs in the eighth, and closed the final gap to 11-6 with three runs in the ninth, including Rehbein's two-run blast.

Freshman Zach Goodwyn took the loss, allowing four runs on two hits in two-thirds of an inning.  Freshmen Matt Abramson and Torey Mancari each pitched three-plus innings of relief for the Eagles, who outhit Salisbury in the game, 13-9.
