The University of Mary Washington baseball team erupted for 18 runs on 19 hits and scored in every inning but one in an 18-13 victory over \#12 Salisbury University in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament on Saturday in Salisbury, Md., eliminating the Sea Gulls and sending the Eagles to the championship round against Wesley College without a loss in the double-eliminiation event.

The Eagles jumped ahead with two runs in the first and one in the second, but Salisbury cut the deficit to 3-2 in the top of the third. After the Eagles took a 4-2 lead in the third, Salisbury surged ahead with four runs in the fourth.

But the Eagles quickly answered with two runs in the fourth to tie the score and then plated seven runs in the fifth to take command in the game. Both teams scored three runs in the sixth, and the Eagles plated two more runs in the eighth to top the Gulls for the first time this season.

At the plate, the Eagles were led by senior left fielder Will Wright (St. Louis, Mo., St. Louis Priory), who went 4-5 with two singles, a double, and a three-run homer in addition to a walk. He scored four runs and drove in five in the game. Sophomore Santino Rosanova (Laurel, Md., DeMatha) went 3-5 with four RBI, and junior Jackson Clement (Fairfax, Va., Woodson) singled and doubled twice with three runs scored.

Senior shortstop Seamus Bergen (Fredericksburg, Va., Chancellor) went 2-5with three runs and two RBI, and junior Eric Rehbein (Alexandria, Va., Gonzaga) went 2-5 with three runs and three RBI. Nick Espinosa (Arnold, Md., Broadneck) went 2-5 with a run and a pair of RBI.
