Asau Rodriguez has been promoted to Interim Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Mary Washington for 21-22 Academic Year, according to UMW Director of Athletics Patrick Catullo.
Rodgriguez has served as Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning at UMW since August, 2018. He will oversee the strength and conditioning activities of over 500+ student–athletes across 21 athletic programs. He has his Master’s Degree (MS) in Human Performance, is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and is a Sports Performance Specialist through USA Weightlifting (USAW-1).
“I want to thank Asau for stepping into this role midyear”, said Catullo. “His experience as our Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach and familiarity with our student-athletes and staff over the last few years make this a natural fit.”
UMW Athletics will commence a national search the Director of Strength and Conditioning position in May 2022.
Prior to coming to UMW, he had experience working with the performance staffs at Black Hills State University, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, University of Wisconsin La-Crosse, and most recently The University of Texas at Austin.
