    Sophomore Jenny Mayo scored the tying goal with 58.3 seconds left in regulation, and the University of Mary Washington women's soccer team overcame a 2-0 deficit in the shootout to advance past St. Mary's College, 3-2 in the shootout and to the Capital Athletic Conference semifinals on Saturday at the Battleground. UMW improves to 13-1-3 on the year.

    The University of Mary Washington’s women’s basketball and soccer teams got their hands dirty this weekend while volunteering at the Friends of the Rappahannock Riverfest. Members of each program assisted guests by handing out buckets of crabs in this all-you-can-eat crab feast and auction fundraiser.
  • UMW Women's Soccer to Host Charity Socks for Soccer Clinic for Micah Minitries

    The University of Mary Washington Women’s Soccer Program and their “Soccer for Socks” weekend was a resounding success. On Saturday the team started with a 5 – 0 win over in conference rival Wesley and in the process collected nearly 400 pairs of socks. On Sunday the even continued with the “Soccer for Socks” charity soccer clinic. During this event nearly another 325 pairs of socks were collected. All socks will be donated to Micah Ministries in Fredericksburg to then be distributed among the homeless communities in the area.
