#16 UMW Men's Tennis Tops Washington and #25 Stevens on Busy Saturday

The 16th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team opened the day on Saturday with a 9-0 victory over Washington (Md.) College, and came back in the afternoon for a 6-3 win over nationally ranked Stevens Tech, to improve to 5-0 on the season.

The Eagles topped Washington, 9-0, with Eric Hurwitz and Nolan Perugini winning at one doubles, 8-6, Alex Cragg and David Lunding-Johansson winning at two, 8-1, and Matt Miles and Derek Hagino winning at three, 8-3.

In singles, Brandon Griffin won in three sets at one, Lunding-Johansson won at two, Eric Hurwitz won at three, Patrick Hughes won at four, Miles won at five, and Hagino won at six.

In the win over #25 Stevens, Eagle wins came from Hurwitz and Perugini at two doubles, Cragg and Lunding-Johansson at three doubles, Lunding-Johansson at two singles, Griffin at three singles, Hughes at five, and Miles at six.

The Eagles will be back in action on Sunday when they host #22 North Carolina Wesleyan College at 1:00 p.m.
