UMW Men's, Women's XC Finish Fourth at C2C Championships

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's cross country teams each finished in fourth place at the 2021 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday in Sunnyvale, California.

The Eagles took fourth place overall in the men's race on the 8K course with 89 points. Junior Patrick Brown (Alexandria, Va.) led the Eagles with a ninth place finish, at 25:41. Senior Matt O'Cadiz (Falls Church, Va.) finished 22nd at 26:19, followed by senior Justin Libman (Springfield, Va.) in 23rd at 26:35. Junior Nicholas Onorato (Fairfax Station, Va.) finished 25th at 26:41, and senior Brandon Baumgartner (Alexandria, Va.) took 26th at 26:46.

For the women, the Eagles took fourth place with 101 points. Senior Cameron Delean (South Riding, Va.) finished 17th to lead the Eagles, with a time of 23:41. Junior Grace Pippin (Bristow, Va.) took 21st at 23:49, followed by freshman Jessica Oberlies (Greensboro, N.C.) in 28th at 24:20, senior Kenzie Lloyd (Earlysville, Va.) in 31st at 24:42, and freshman Julia Kapp in 32nd at 24:49.

UMW will compete at the NCAA Southeast Regional on November 13.
