Rodgers Gains Scholar-Athlete of the Year as All-C2C Volleyball Team Named

Senior middle hitter Krista Rodgers gained Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors, and was joined on the all-conference team by junior Jordan Lyons and sophomore Chloe Crosen, as the 2022 All-Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Volleyball Team was released on Thursday morning.

Rodgers, a first team all-conference pick, gains 2022 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Rodgers, who leads Mary Washington with a .387 hitting average and 0.86 blocks per set, is also a standout in the classroom, having gained recognition on the UMW Athletic Honor Roll, the Virginia Sports Information Directors' Academic All-State Team, as well as the C2C All-Academic Team. A Business Administration major with a minor in sports management, Rodgers has achieved a 3.93 grade-point average.

Lyons joins Rodgers on the first team, after claiming second team honors a season ago. She leads the Eagles with 341 kills and 3.22 kills per game. She also leads the team with 440 digs and 0.39 service aces per game.

Crosen emerged this season with 231 kills (2.31 per game), and a .283 hitting average. She was named to the second team.

The Eagles will open play in the C2C Tournament at home in semifinal action on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. at Ron Rosner Arena.
