UMW Volleyball Tops Ithaca, Salisbury on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team claimed victories over Ithaca College and Salisbury University on Saturday at Ron Rosner Arena, both by 3-1 scores. The Eagles improve to 18-5 on the season, and run their win streak to four straight.

UMW opened the day with a 23-25, 31-29, 25-19, 25-19 victory over Ithaca. Junior Jordan Lyons paced the Eagles with 16 kills and 21 digs, while senior Krista Rodgers and sophomore Chloe Crosen each added 15 kills against two assists. Lauren Foley scored 32 assists, with junior Brenna Campbell adding 26. Sarah Moore scored eight kills and added a team-high 27 digs, and Hannah Livermon added 18 digs.

In the nightcap, the Eagles downed Salisbury, 25-16, 25-15, 22-25, 25-20. Lyons led with 18 kills and 21 digs, while Crosen added 14 kills. Rodgers and Moore each added 10 kills, and Moore added 20 digs. Foley added 24 assists and Campbell 22, and Livermon led with 28 digs.

The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday when they host Gallaudet University at 7:00 p.m.
