Freshman Hannah Lawson (Charlottesville, Va., Albemarle) had eight kills, four aces, and eight digs to lead the University of Mary Washington volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Wesley College in Capital Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night at Goolrick Gymnasium. Game scores were 25-18, 25-14, 25-15.

Sophomore hitter Karissa Herrick (Colts Neck, N.J., Colts Neck) scored seven kills and sophomore Laura Gomez (Charlottesville, Va., Albemarle) added six for UMW, who saw Kaitlynn Wickersham (Midlothian, Va., Manchester) lead with 12 kills and Katie Shiflett (Weyers Cave, Va., Fort Defiance) add 18 assists.

The Eagles will return to action on Thursday night when they host Virginia Wesleyan College at 7:00 p.m.
