#26 UMW Women's Tennis Falls to #10 Redlands, 5-1, in NCAA Tourney 2nd Round

The 26th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team dropped a 5-1 decision to 10th ranked University of Redlands on Saturday afternoon in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Middletown, Conn. The Eagles close the season with a record of 10-11.

Unlike in the two teams' regular season matchup, the Eagles came away with a point in doubles action, as seniors Amanda Hagino and Hana Kimmey scored an 8-5 victory at one. The Eagles fell at two, and came down to the wire at three, dropping an 8-7 score, which gave Redlands some momentum for singles play.

Redlands gained straight set wins at four, five, and six to pick up the team match win.

Hagino and Kimmey will advance to the NCAA Division III doubles championship on May 25-27 in St. Louis, Mo.
