#33 UMW Women's Tennis Tops Salisbury, 5-0, in C2C Semifinal

The 33rd ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team blanked Salisbury University, 5-0, on Saturday in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference semifinal round in Newport News, Va. The Eagles improve to 9-9 on the season, and will advance to Sunday's Championship against Christopher Newport University.

The Eagles began with three doubles wins, as Amanda Hagino and Hana Kimmey topped Olivia Hall and Katherine Tamesis at one, 8-0, Abby Moghtader and Rebecca Stepleman defeated  Elizabeth Christine and Sarah Cooper at two, 8-1, and Riley Smith and Emily Beckner downed Hannah Carter and Evelyn Whiteside at three, 8-2.

In singles play, Moghtader defeated Tamesis at one, 6-0, 6-1, and Kimmey gained the clincher at three with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Hall.

The Eagles will take on host Christopher Newport in the final on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
