The 13th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated 21st ranked Washington (Mo.) University, 7-2, on Saturday evening in San Antonio, Texas. The Eagles improve to 7-3 on the season.

The Eagles opened the match by taking a 2-1 lead in doubles. Abby Moghtader and Lauren Quinn won an 8-4 decision at one over Karen Gao and Kat Johnston, and Claire Coleman and Amanda Hagino won at two, 8-4, over Dicaya Sharma and Carolyn Tsung.

In singles play, Moghtader picked up a 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 win at one over Gao, and Coleman won a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win at two over Sharma. Quinn topped S. Huynh at three, 1-6, 6-1, 6-2, and Hagino beat Johnston at four, 6-3, 6-2. Hana Kimmey topped Johnston, 6-0, 7-5.

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday when they host Carnegie Mellon University at 11:00 a.m.
