UMW Women's Tennis Falls to Claremont Mudd Scripps, 8-1, on Sunday Night

The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team opened the spring season with an 8-1 loss at Claremont Mudd Scripps on Sunday evening in Claremont, Cal. 

In doubles, the Eagles gained a point at one, as Claire Coleman and Amanda Hagino picked up a big 8-7 win at one over Selby and Bahsoun. The Eagles fell at two, as Abby Moghtader and Lauren Quinn fell, 8-7, and Hana Kimmey and Emily Beckner fell at three, 8-2.

The Eagles dropped the singles matches, with Moghtader falling, 6-2, 6-2, at one, Coleman falling, 6-3, 6-0, at two, and Quinn dropping a 6-3, 6-2 match at three. Hagino fell at four, 6-2, 6-0, Kimmey fell at five, 6-0, 6-1, and Beckner fell at six, 6-0, 6-2.

The Eagles will compete against Chapman University on Monday at 4:00 p.m. Eastern.
