Kinsey Brooks, Justin Anderson Claim Top Honors on VaSID All-State Women's Swim Team

Junior Kinsey Brooks was named as Swimmer of the Year and head coach Justin Anderson was named as Coach of the Year, as the Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State College Division Women's Swimming team was announced on Wednesday. The Eagles saw Brooks gain first team honors in the breaststroke and individual medley, as well as the 400 medley relay of Phoebe Root, Brooks, Bridget Wilson, and Thalia Costanza.

Brooks finished the season as a three-time NCAA All-American, 1st Team in 100 breaststroke and 200 IM and 2nd team in the 200 breast. She broke UMW & MET Conference records in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes en route to MET Conference Swimmer of the year. She was undefeated in the regular and championship season, with her only races lost at NCAA Championships.

Anderson led Mary Washington to the 2023 METS Conference championship, and was named METS Women's Coach of the Year. He led UMW to 21st place finish at NCAA Championships, with Brooks' three All-America performances.

Second team all-state honors went to Costanza in the free sprints, Bridget Zagrobelny in the breaststroke, Bridget Wilson and Margie Jones in the butterfly, and the 200 free relay (Brooks, Jones, Wilson, Costanza) and 200 medley relay (Phoebe Root, Brooks, Jones, Costanza).
