UMW Women's Swimmers Complete Day One at METS Championships

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team completed a very successful day one at the Metro Swimming Conference Championships in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

The Eagles opened the night with a second place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay, as Kinsey Brooks, Margaret Jones, Bridget Wilson, and Thalia Costanza touched out at 1:37.44. Kaylie Curran finished fourth in the 500 yard freestyle, and Rose McMullen took fifth, and Brooks came back to take first in the 200 yard IM, with an NCAA B cut time of 2:02.76. Jenny Thompson finished third in the event, and Delaney Humphrey took fourth.

Costanza took fifth and Jones sixth in the 50 freestyle, and the 400 medley relay of Phoebe Root, Brooks, Jones, and Costanza finished first with a time of 3:51.68. 

The meet will continue through the weekend.
