The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team defeated Frostburg St. University on Saturay, 167-94, to improve to 6-1 on the season.
UMW opened with a win in the 200 yard medley relay, as Phoebe Root, Kinsey Brooks, Bridget Wilson and Thaia Costanza touched first at 2:06.93. Bridget Zagrobelny finished first in the 200 free at 2:18.54, with Rose McMullen and Arianna Tosi close behind at 2:20.44 and 2:21.73. Amber Candido won the 100 backstroke at 1:10.51, and Thalia Costanza placed second in the 100 breastsroke at 1:21.14.
Julia May finished third the 100 butterfly at 1:06.79, Thompson won the 200 breaststroke at 2:55.58, and Candido claimed the 500 free at 4:58.63. Kinsey Brooks won the 50 butterfly at 28.02, and the 200 free relay of Thalia Costanza, Margaret Jones, Amber Candido, and Kinsey Brooks won with a time of 1:56.47.
This meet also included the 1650 yard freestyle, in which Megan Kim, Abby Reilly, and Caroline Tuner competed - with times of 19:43.21, 20:18.25, and 20:29.70, respectively.
The Eagles will return to action on Friday when they visit Franklin and Marshll for their invitational meet at 10:00 am on Friday.
