UMW Women's Swimming Topples Over St. Mary's in 202-60 Win, on Friday Night

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team defeated St. Mary's College on Friday, 202-60, to improve to 5-1 on the season.

UMW opened with a win in the 200 yard medley relay, as Phoebe RootJenny ThompsonRose McMullen and Selby Heyman touched first at 1:56.10. Ashley Dyer finished first in the 200 free at 2:01.38, Root won the 100 backstroke at 1:04.30, and Jenny Thompson placed second in the 100 breastsroke at 1:12.71.

Julia May won the 100 butterfly at 1:02.80, Dyer won the 200 breaststroke at 2:33.11, and Candido claimed the 500 free at 5:28.68. Bridget Wilson won the 50 butterfly at 27.45, and the 200 free relay of McMullen, Kinsey BrooksJenny Thompson, and Arianna Tosi won with a time of 1:45.89.

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday when they visit Frostburg St. at 1:30 pm.
