Kinsey Brooks Named B101.5 UMW Female Student-Athlete of the Month for November

Freshman swimming standout Kinsey Brooks has been named as the B101.5 UMW Female Scholar-Athlete of the Month for November. Brooks dominated the Eagles' two dual meets and at the three-day Franklin & Marshall College Invitational, winning eight races individually as well as a part of four winning relay teams.

Brooks started the month with three individual wins and a relay win against F&M and York College of PA. She took first in the 100 yard breaststroke at 1:06.23, the 200 breaststroke at 2:26.36, and the 200 Individual Medley at 2:12.69. She swam the anchor leg on the winning 200 free relay, that finished at 1:39.28.

She continued winning races in a dual meet win over St. Mary's, placing first in the 100 breaststroke at 1:06.75, the 50 yard freestyle at 24.68, and was a member of the winning 200 medley relay (1:53.75) and 400 free relay (3:46.41).

She concluded the month with three individual wins and a relay win at the F&M Invitational, as UMW finished second among 11 schools. She took first in the 200 IM at 2:03.50, setting a new meet record, and also finished first in the 100 breaststroke at 1:04.84 and the 200 breast at 2:17.57, knocking nearly nine seconds off her time earlier in the month. She was also a part of the winning 400 free relay, which finished at 3:52.66.

Her 200 IM swim at F&M was also a UMW record, and she earned NCAA B-Cuts in the 200 IM, 100 Breast, and 200 Breast and she is currently ranked 3rd in all of D-3 in the 200 IM, 4th in 200 breast and 5th in the 100 breast.
