UMW Women's Soccer Battles Lynchburg to Scoreless Draw

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team battled the University of Lynchburg to a scoreless tie on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon at the Battleground. The Eagles move to 3-2-2 on the season.

The Eagles and Hornets battled back and forth for much of the early going. Late in the first half, Lynchburg saw a quality chance hit the crossbar, and the Eagles were able to recover and hold the guests scoreless for the final minutes of the first and throughout the second.

UMW was outshot, 8-6, and Lynchburg held an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks. UMW goalkeeper Ally Holden made four saves on the day in gaining the shutout.

The Eagles will return to action on Monday when they host Hood College at 4:00 p.m.
