Five Eagles Named to All-C2C Women's Soccer Team; Nork Gains Defensive POY

Senior goalkeeper Allison Nork (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) was named as the league's Defensive Player of the Year and five University of Mary Washington players were honored as the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference announced its all-conference teams on Wednesday. Senior midfielder Katherine Brady (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle), senior defender Olivia Severin (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge), and junior defender Shelby DeJong (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) joined Nork on the first team, and senior midfielder Gracie Williams (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) gained second team honors.

Nork was named as the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year after recording 75 saves in 14 games, with a 1.16 goals-against average and a .815 save percentage.  She was named as the league's Defensive Player of the Week three times this season, including this past week, after registering a career-high 14 saves in a 1-1 tie at CNU.

A three-year starter, Brady has played 14 games this season, starting 13, scoring one goal on a penalty kick against Salisbury. DeJong joined the starting lineup this fall and has provided solid defense on the back line.

Severin, a two-time all-conference performer, started every game for the Eagles, just as she did as a freshman and sophomore. Her defense greatly helped UMW's stingy defense. Williams, a second team pick, gained all-conference honors for the second time. She has scored three goals on the year, including one in each of the Eagles' last three contests.

The Eagles will begin play in the C2C Tournament in semifinal action on Friday at Salisbury, Md.
