UMW Track & Field Competes at Doc Jopson Invitational

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the Doc Jopson Invitaional in Bridgewater, Va. on Saturday.

Top finishes for the Eagles included a first place finish from Luke Blair in the 1500 meters, with a time of 4:03.85, a second place from Etthan Young in the 100 meter hurdles, at 15.32, and a third place from Jacinto Jones II in the 100 meters at 10.80 seconds. Sophia Redmond also finished third, in the 100 meters, at 12.33, as did Aidan Kimener in the 800 meters, at 2:01.20.  Jimmy Volk placed third in the 5000 meters at 16:38.86.

The men's 4x400 meter relay of Jacinto Jones II, Mohammed Ahmed, Ethan Young and Eli Haynes, finished second, with a time of 3:28.67. Aidan Smagh finished fourth in the long jump, at 21 feet, 5.75 inches.

UMW will return to action on April 5-6 at the Colonial Relays.
