UMW Men's and Women's Track & Field Both Take Fourth at C2C Championships

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's outdoor track and field teams both finished in fourth place at the 2023 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Championships, which wrapped up on Sunday at the Battleground.

On the men's side, Nick Onorato finished third in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at 10:01.60, and Jacob Lohr took fifth in the 1500 meters, at 4:02.91. The 4x100 meter relay of Jacinto Jones II, Reese Creadon, Matthew Rose and Ian Chapman finished third at 41.99, and Ethan Young finished second and Creadon third in the 110 meter hurdles, at 15.47 and 15.60, respectively. 

Jones II finished second in the 200 meters at 21.78 and fourth in the 400 meters at 49.90, and Young took third in the 400 meter hurdles at 56.87. Patrick Murphy was fifth in the 5000 meters at 15:47.46. The 4x400 relay, consisting of Creadon, Aidan Girard, Aidan Kimener, and Onorato, took fourth at 3:34.13.

The men scored 55 points, behind Salisbury (200), Christopher Newport (176), and UC Santa Cruz (173).

For the women, Hannah Unger finished first in the high jump, with a leap of 1.54 meters, and Haileigh Byrd won the triple jump, at 11.09 meters. Faith Jones took fifth in the discus at 24.18 meters.

Byrd finished third in the 100 meter hurdles at 15.25, and Sophia Redmond took second in the 100 meters, at 12.34, and second in the 200 meters, at 25.82. 

The women finished with 61 points, behind CNU (241), Santa Cruz (179), and Salisbury (89).
