#21 UMW Men's Tennis Tops #41 Va. Wesleyan, 7-2, on Wednesday

The 21st ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team scored a 7-2 victory over #41 Virginia Wesleyan University on Wednesday afternoon at the Hegmann Family Complex. The Eagles improve to 13-7 on the season.

The Eagles found themselves trailing after doubles, as Rishi Charan Shankar and Peter Leese scored an 8-3 win at one, but the Eagles fell in tight matches at two and three.

UMW rebounded to score wins at all six singles flights. Charan Shankar defeated Ole Behrmann 6-4, 6-3, at one. and Artis Hart downed Rafael Rullan at two, 6-4, 5-7, 1-0. Brock Ladehoff topped Tudor Vlad at three, 6-4, 6-2, and Leese downed Hubert Parawa at four, 6-2, 6-4. Trevor Rein topped Sebastien Muller at five, 7-6, 3-6, 6-3, and Albert Vladimirskiy defeated Francis Cabaddu at six, 6-2, 6-4.

The Eagles will be back in action on Sunday at the College of New Jersey at 12:00 p.m.
