The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the ninth week of the 2022 spring tennis season. Mary Washington senior Lauren Quinn earned C2C Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week accolades, while senior Moses Hutchison claimed C2C Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors.
WOMEN'S TENNIS: Lauren Quinn - Mary Washington
Senior Lauren Quinn picked up wins in doubles and singles, as #14 Mary Washington defeated #25 Christopher Newport, 8-1, on Thursday. Quinn and Abby Moghtader defeated Ana Clara Borga and Raine Weis, 8-1, at one doubles, before she downed Karina Crivtonencu at three singles, 6-3, 6-0.
MEN'S TENNIS: Moses Hutchison - Mary Washington
Hutchison led #19 Mary Washington to a 9-0 win at Southern Virginia University on Tuesday, in the Eagles' only action of the week. Hutchison and Andrew Watson, ranked first in the Atlantic South Region, defeated Tanner Bassett and Daniel Blonquist, 8-4, at one doubles. Hutchison then topped the ninth ranked player in the region, Marcos Diaz, at one singles, 6-3, 6-0. The Eagles' senior has won eight of his last nine singles matches, including his last five straight. Hutchison and Watson are 13-2 on the spring, and have won nine straight.
