#22 UMW Men's Tennis Tops #28 Kalamazoo, 8-1, on Friday

The 22nd ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team defeated 28th ranked Kalamazoo College, 8-1, on Friday in San Antonio, Texas. The Eagles improve to 7-2 on the season.

In doubles, Mary Washington opened with three victories. At one, Moses Hutchison and Andrew Watson gained a tight 8-7 (2) win at one over Yi and Fitzgerald. Rishi Charan Shankar and Nick Spera won at two over Johnson and Vidinas, 8-4, and Peter Leese and Cole Tecce won at three, 8-1, over Alousi and Foster.

Hutchison claimed a 6-4, 6-1 win at one singles over Yi, and Charan Shankar topped Vidinas at two, 6-4, 3-6, 10-5. Watson won at three, 6-2, 7-6 (3), Tecce won at four, 6-4, 6-7 (4), 10-7, over Johnson, and Leese defeated Rafferty, 6-0, 6-1.

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday when they face Southwestern University.
