UMW Men's Swimming Tops Marymount, 193-68, on Friday

The University of Mary Washington men's swimming team defeated Marmount University, 193-68, on Friday evening in Arlington, Va. The Eagles improve to 7-2 on the season.

The Eagles opened with a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 yard medley relay, with Paul Datovech, Aidan Deege, Alex Aung, and Will Burkley touched first at 1:39.30. Conrad Tan took first in the 1000 freestyle at 10:25.16, leading a 1-2-3 finish. Jakob Robinette finished first in the 200 yard freestyle at 1:47.76, Burkley followed with a win in the 50 yard freestyle at 25.41, and Stephen Wallach took first in the 50 yard breaststroke at 28.54.

Kyle Diederich was first in the 100 yard butterfly at 54.75, Ellis Winfree was first in the 50 free at 22.51, and Preston Trevey won the 100 free at 49.69. Boone Fleenor won the 100 backstroke at 55.83. Caleb Smietana won the 100 breast at 1:01.44, Jonathan Zimmer won the 500 free at 4:57.48, and Trevey won the 50 butterfly at 24.13. Jack Schreiber won the 400 IM at 4:25.71, before the 200 freestyle relay of Zack Cherry, Kai Green, Aidan Deege, and Conrad Tan finished at 1:30.93.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday at home against Gettysburg College at 1:00 p.m.
