UMW Men's Swimming Tops St. Mary's College of MD, 177-81, on Friday Night

The University of Mary Washington men's swimming team defeated St. Mary's College of MD, 177-81, on Friday afternoon at Goolrick Natatorium. The Eagles improve to 4-2 on the season.

The Eagles opened with a win in the 200 yard medley relay, as Kyle JohnsonStephen WallachConrad Tan, and Logan Dewalt touched first at 1:40.73. Boone Fleenor finished third in the 1000 yard freestyle at 10:47.46, while Kyle Diederich followed with a victory in the 200 IM freestyle at 2:07.12.

Larry Almariento finished first in the 200 yard freestyle at 1:49.64. Boone Fleenor finished second with a time of 25.76 in the 50 yard backstroke. Aidan Deege finished first in the 50 yard breaststroke at 27.40. Kyle Johnson won the 100 yard backstroke at 55.40, Deege claimed first in the 100 yard breaststroke at 1:01.39, and Ellis Winfree placed second in the 50 free at 21.94. Conrad TanSean Gitchell, and Kyle Diederich took the top three spots in the 400 IM with times of 4:22.21, 4:24.72, and 4:36.30, respectively.

The Eagles will be back in action at Frostburg St. on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
