UMW Men's Swimming Tops Lynchburg, 175-87

The University of Mary Washington men's swimming team defeated the University of Lynchburg 175-87 on Friday night at Goolrick Natatorium.

The Eagles were led by junior Conrad Tan, who finished first in the 200 yard freestyle, at 1:48.30, senior Ellis Winfree, who reached a new personal best on his 50 yard freestyle at 21.97 - dropping .29 seconds, Will Burkey, who finished fast on his 100 yard freestyle at 48.55, and Sean Gitchell, who finished second in the 500 yard freestyle at 5:02.84.

Conrad Tan was the standout swimmer, finishing first in all three of his individual events, 200 yard freestyle (1:48.30), 200 yard breastroke (2:12.45), and 200 yard IM (2:00.96).

UMW will be back in action on Saturday, October 29, when the Eagles host Randolph-Macon College at 2:00 p.m.
