For the sixth season in a row, No. 2 Mary Washington men's soccer has advanced to the Coast-to-Coast championship game with its 2-0 victory over UC Santa Cruz on Friday afternoon, 2-0.

The Eagles scored in the 33rd minute on Josh Kirkland's feed to Blake Hoskins, one that gave UMW the lead in the first half. Mary Washington recorded 10 total shots in the half before taking a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Kirkland, as he usually does, put the game away with a goal in the second half -- his 13th score in 18 games this season. He found the back of the net on an unassisted attempt.

In total, the Eagles recorded 16 shots and nine corners compared to the Banana Slugs' 11 shots and five corners.

Freddy Rogers recorded yet another clean sheet in the net for the Eagles after stopping all four shots on goal that were sent his way.

The Eagles will have a chance to take home their second-straight C2C Championship on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT as they face the winner of the Christopher Newport and UW-Platteville matchup.
